First, a little eye candy....

of the waterfowl variety....

gen-u-ine goslings in my front yard. They wandered up from the lake into my front yard this afternoon after we got home from Rome. I can state categorically that goslings (and their parents) prefer saltine crackers to Wheat Thins. We've seen several goose families around the lake this year, but this one's the first to venture this far up. The parents were protective, hissing at us while they accepted the offering of saltines, but I think they knew we meant them no harm. HRL, on the other hand, was barking fiercely from behind the safety of the window.

More eye candy....

These are the socks that I made for my mom. She was quite thrilled with them as she has a couple of pairs I made last year and she wears them to sleep in. They're knitted out of Lion Brand Wool Ease using a pattern out of Creative Knitting, November 2005. Very easy pattern and a good one for beginners, I think.

Other stitching and/or knitting this week?? I was humbled by a lace scarf pattern that I liked starting so well that I've done it 4 times so far, and I'm looking forward to starting it again. I got about half done with my first sock of the April shipment in the Rockin Sock Club (lace again... I sense a trend), and I've dropped stitches so I'm sending it to the frog pond. I'll be starting that over this week. Pooh. I've started stitching a needleroll at my mom's request for her little 87 year old friend who is also a very good friend of mine -- looks like a quick stitch, so with any luck I'll make some progress this week.

We spent Memorial Day weekend with my mom in Rome. Ate too much as usual, and Richard was great in helping her do a lot of things around the house that needed doing. Oscar and I tried to stay out of the way. :)

Looks like another busy week with clients. I'm hoping to get a bit more stitching and knitting in along the way -- all while on the lookout for goslings, of course!

Socks look great!! Hmmm...I had a lace scarf I think I had to start over 3 or 4 times as well. Maybe it's just a rite of passage??
