Thank Goodness there's a race tonight......

Have I mentioned that I'm just a good ol' North Georgia redneck girl? Just one step (and several college degrees) above that #8 tattoo (well, that and a fear of pain... and reprisals from my mom if I ever got one of those during her lifetime). I guess the #8 tattoo would have been an outstandingly bad idea anyway considering Dale Jr. is now changing teams.

At any rate, I went to Rome (Georgia, that is) today to see my mom, and it took me two hours to make a normally 45 minute drive home thanks to the stupidity of someone on the interstate that blocked all 4 (count 'em!) lanes south on the drive home. Needless to say, I'm a bit frazzled, even with the enthusiastic greeting I got from HRL on my return home. (Nothing like a dog at home to make you feel loved. Doesn't matter where you've been or how long you've been gone -- it's like "Wow! It's been ages since I've seen you! Come here and pet me! I love you so much!)

So I checked the local listings, as they say, and there's a truck race on tonight, so it'll be me, hubby, and HRL watching the trucks turn left. And I'll be knitting on my mom's sock. Got the heel turned last night, so I can pick up the instep stitches and maybe even get the foot done tonight. :) Optimism... it's a lovely thing.
